Interview with Star in a Bra contestant Tora Atkinson
Name: Tora Atkinson
Bra Size: 30G
UK Dress size: 10/12
Town: County: CheltenhamSo tell us a bit about yourself?
Hi I'm Tora and I am 20. I'm a vivacious, (some say) voluptuous extrovert from the beautiful Cotswold town of Cheltenham. I am a full-time acting student at the Arden school of acting Manchester.Have you had any modelling experience previously?
I haven't any modelling experience, but from a young age I have enjoyed posing in front of the camera for family photos and local fashion shows. I have been lucky enough to be involved in a bit of television, so I am comfortable in front of the camera. Why did you enter Star in a Bra?
I entered Star in a Bra because I want to stand up, (in gorgeous Curvy Kate lingerie) and represent my fellow ample busted ladies. For years larger cup bras have looked more like parachutes than the pretty sets sold in smaller sizes. I want to help expand the market so that we curvy girls can feel sexy in our intimates. How does it feel now that you've progressed to the final ten of the competition?
I am overwhelmed to be chosen for the top ten and truly grateful to everyone who voted for me. I was pleasantly surprised when Hannah gave me the news and I hope that I make it to the top three. How have your family/friends/partner reacted to you not only entering, but getting down to the final?
My family and friends have been so supportive. It was my dad who spotted the competition, my mum who took the photos and my brother Henry and sister Tanya have been rallying up their friends to vote for me.What was it like when you found out you had made it through, how did you react?
I was just on my way back from a singing exam when I got a call from Hannah announcing I had made it into the final 10. I think I remained silent for a good minute to digest this information. I was so excited to get to the stage of the photo shoot. Were you nervous before the photo shoot? How did you find it?
Surprisingly I wasn't nervous for the photo shoot. I was excited to be able to work amongst such professional and genuine people. I felt so comfortable that it did not faze me I was jumping around in next to nothing. It was a fabulous experience and I could really get used toWhat advice would you give to girls entering next year?
For girls thinking about entering, I say do it! Be confident and get involved. Send in natural looking photos so people can see your natural beauty..What are your thoughts on companies using 'real girls' to model, do you think it's important?
I am all for companies using 'real girls' to model. Models are role-models, and it is hard to look up to someone if you cannot relate to them. I want to be part of something that promotes beautiful women in all shapes and sizes. If you were to win the competition, what are you most looking forward to?
If I win the competition I will look forward to waking up every morning knowing I am part of something which promotes curvaceous women in such a positive light. The years supply of underwear would be the icing on the cake! What are your favourite underwear brands?
Some of my favourite underwear brands are Freya, Cleo and Curvy Kate, however I have a secret obsession for Masquerade underwear as it makes me feel sexier.
As a curvy girl, what kinds of problems do you have finding brands that flatter your shape, make you feel feminine or sexy?
Underwear shopping can be a real struggle. I may be curvy but I have a small frame. Finding large cup sizes in a 28 or 30 back is really difficult, and often expensive. Curvy Kate lingerie is pretty and more reasonable than most brands. Why do you think you should win Star in a Bra?
I think I should be the Star in a Bra 2010 winner because I am ready to stand up and become the face of Curvy Kate. I am a natural red head, natural 30GG and naturally a hungry contestant who would love to represent real women.Posted on: 6/16/10 2:48:07 P
