Interview with Star ina Bra contestant Lauren Sadler
Name: Lauren Sadler
Bra Size: 30G
UK Dress size: 10
Town, County: Dover, KentSo tell us a bit about yourself?
My name is Lauren I'm a geography student at Durham but originally from Dover, and my bra size is a 30G.Have you had any modelling experience previously?
I've had no modelling experience whatsoever so it's all a bit scary for me!Why did you enter Star in a Bra?
I saw it advertised last year, but obviously you have to be 18 and sadly I wasn't old enough. I think the competition gives out such a good message because you see so many skinny models around, or girls with fake boobs modelling underwear and I just think it's good to show girls that you don't have to be either to be a model. How does it feel now that you've progressed to the final ten of the competition?
It's a bit overwhelming because I didn't expect it. I didn't even expect to get into the top 30 so it's really lovely to know I've got lots of support from the public. How have your family/friends/partner reacted to you not only entering, but getting down to the final?
Everyone has been really good about it; my parents have been really supportive and my friends are so excited. My brother is younger than me and was a bit worried what his friends might say, but really it's very sweet of him. What was it like when you found out you had made it through, how did you react?
It was quite early in the morning when I got the call so I don't think it really registered what I had to do! I was so excited but eventually managed to calm down! What advice would you give to girls entering next year?
It's definitely worth entering because you never know what is going to happen and if you're feeling a bit nervous, it's great as a confidence booster, so just go for it!What are your thoughts on companies using 'real girls' to model, do you think it's important?
When I look through magazines I can feel quite down about myself because I don't look like the models they use. But if real girls are modelling the products it makes you feel as if you can relate to them. What are your favourite underwear brands?
I love Freya and Panache, and Gorgeous by Debenhams - they're all a really good fir for my shape. As a curvy girl, what kinds of problems do you have finding brands that flatter your shape, make you feel feminine or sexy?
It used to really depress me buying bras; I could find ones that would fit but they'd often be really unattractive, in horrible colours or with thick straps, and really, you just want to feel attractive when it comes to underwear. I think the choice is getting better though. Were you nervous before the photo shoot? How did you find it?
I have been really nervous. I have had exams though so it's almost as if it's been at the back of my mind but all of a sudden I realised that it was tomorrow. I am excited, I think if anything a bit apprehensive but I think I'll be fine once I get into it.Why do you think you should win Star in a Bra?
Tough question! I think I should win because I think girls will be able to relate to me because I'm just a normal girl at the end of the day, and I can show women everywhere that you don't have to be overly confident to do this.Posted on: 6/9/10 4:58:05 P
